The Nigerian Gospel Music scene has officially entered a new era.

More than just an album release, Healing Streams arrives as a defining cultural and spiritual statement — one many are already describing as a landmark moment in Nigerian Gospel Music history.

For what may very well be the first time on this scale within the Nigerian Gospel landscape, a conventional worship leader and an AfroGospel artist have come together to create a full body of work — intentionally bridging two worlds many once viewed as separate.

And somehow, it works beautifully.

The project boldly dismantles long-standing stereotypes within Gospel Music — proving that regardless of sound, style, audience, expression or creative approach, collaboration remains one of the strongest evidences of unity in the body of Christ.

At its core, Healing Streams is more than music.

It is a conversation between generations.
A meeting point between urban expression and deep worship.
A statement that Gospel Music can evolve without losing its essence.
A declaration that creativity and consecration can coexist powerfully.

For years, the Gospel space has often operated within visible creative silos. But with Healing Streams, Same OG and David Nkennor have intentionally defied those limitations — choosing collaboration over separation, innovation over fear, and impact over stereotypes.

The album’s release was preceeded with what many attendees have already called one of the most important AfroGospel industry gatherings in recent years — the Healing Streams Album Listening Party.

Hosted at FourPoints by Sheraton, Victoria Island, Lagos, it was an atmosphere filled with spirituality, creativity, intelligent conversations and immersive music experiences, the event gathered Gospel artistes, record label executives, media leaders, creatives, culture shapers, finance experts and music business professionals under one roof in rare fashion.

The event featured powerful panel conversations with respected voices across Gospel and mainstream music including Nosa Omoregie, Gaise Baba, Fisayo Check, Tommy Tush, Dr. FOY and Excel of Energise Music, Chuka Obi, alongside contributions from pastors, music executives like Uzor Daniels of Sony Music Publishing and industry leaders who explored the future of AfroGospel, music business, ministry, culture and the evolving soundscape of Gospel Music.

But perhaps the evening’s most unforgettable moment came during the immersive silent disco album listening experience, where attendees privately journeyed through the sonic world of Healing Streams track by track through headsets — fully absorbing every lyric, transition, emotion and message.

By the end of the night, one sentiment echoed repeatedly across the room:

“This project feels historic.”

For longtime followers of Same OG, this moment feels especially significant.

Nearly a decade ago, she challenged traditional expectations by becoming one of the first Gospel ministers to successfully headline a Gospel concert inside a nightclub venue in Lagos — a moment many now recognize as one of the culture-shifting statements that helped expand the possibilities of where AfroGospel Music could exist and thrive, birthing a new wave of AfroGospel artists owning and headlining their own platforms like Aramanda, Angeloh’s Bae or No Bae annual event, etc.

With Healing Streams, another bold line has now been crossed.

And for David Nkennor, known for his deeply moving worship expressions and spiritual sincerity, the collaboration represents a refreshing picture of what becomes possible when ministry embraces both depth and creative openness.

Together, both artists have now created a project many believe could become a reference point for future Gospel collaborations across Africa.

Because beyond the melodies, Healing Streams represents something bigger:

The sound of unity.
The sound of healing.
The sound of a new chapter.

The album is now available on all major streaming platforms.
