New series of banknotes at N100, N200, N500, and N1,000 levels will be in circulation from December 15, 2022.
The new and existing currencies shall remain legal tender and circulate together until January 31, 2023, when the existing currencies shall seize to be legal tender in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In view of the above, you are encouraged to deposit all cash in the affected denominations in the bank before the deadline. Please note that cash deposit charges have been suspended for the duration to aid the recovery of old banknotes.
